Description

The Spinning® Instructor Online Certification is a comprehensive course that prepares you to lead classes with essential knowledge, such as bike setup and safety, form and technique, intensity zones and interval training, cueing for performance, motivation, and creating classes and playlists.

With this self-paced online course, your learning experience will include videos, reading assignments, quizzes and practice activities all designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to start creating and leading classes.

You will learn how to:

  • Find the appropriate bike fit settings for yourself and others.
  • Ride with optimal technique for safety and performance.
  • Use metrics like power, heart rate and cadence.
  • Apply science-backed principles of energy systems and physiology to create effective workouts.
  • Deliver cues that motivate and coach riders to get results.
  • Lead a class using a predesigned Spinning® class profile.
  • Choose songs and create playlists that complement the terrain, intensity and rhythm of your profile.
  • Create your own classes based on ride type or training goals.

How it works:

1. Enroll today.

2. Receive a link to access the course in SpinU.

3. You’ll have access to a digital Spinning® Instructor Manual, Study Guide, charts, and a progressive series of modules featuring engaging videos, Master Instructor rides, reading assignments, practice activities and quizzes.

4. Complete the 10 hours of coursework on your own schedule.

5. Pass the 50-item multiple-choice exam with a score of 80% or higher to be awarded the Certified Spinning® Instructor credential, valid for 2 years. (renewable with continuing education requirements)

What you’ll need:
You’ll need access to a bike for the rides, but if you don’t have one at home, you have the flexibility to complete all coursework and the exam first. The on-the-bike portion can be completed afterward. A heart rate monitor is also strongly recommended.
